www.armiger.co.za/ploughback (the “Plough Back Platform”) is owned and operated by Armiger (Pty) Ltd and is made available to Police-, EMS-, and Military-Veterans of South Africa on the following terms and conditions. By using the Plough Back Platform and the services available on it you are deemed to accept these terms and conditions and any additional terms and conditions which expressly apply to services and information provided.

Who we are and how to contact us

The Plough Back Platform is operated by Armiger (Pty) Ltd (“We”, “Our” or “Us”). We are registered in South Africa with registration number 2020/844322/07 a private company, with limited liability duly established and incorporated under the applicable laws of the Republic of South Africa and have Our registered office at 25 Pointsettia Ave, Centurion, South Africa.

Data protection

Our use of CVs and other personal information supplied by users of this Plough Back Africa platform is governed by our Privacy policy.

Since our veterans from South Africa subscribe to our Database, and the respective opportunities are based outside South Africa, access and disclosure of information will also occur from and to such third countries. Even though some of those countries may have a lower legal level of data protection, we will always endeavour to handle your information in accordance with this privacy policy, wherever it is processed.

Use of the Plough Back Africa platform

The information and services available on the Plough Back Africa platform are provided for:

a. individuals looking for employment opportunities on short and medium term contracts within the police, para military police and military environments with the sole purpose to promote peace and stability in the African Continent. You may use, print and download information from the Plough Back Africa platform for these purposes only and for no other personal or commercial purpose. You may not otherwise copy, display, transmit or distribute any material from the Plough Back Africa platform and if you do or if you perform any other unauthorised processing of information on the Plough Back Africa platform it shall be deemed a material breach of these terms and conditions which, in the case of a subscriber, shall entitle us to terminate your registration immediately on notice in writing. Registration to the Plough Back Africa platform does not guarantee employment. Final selection of candidates for an opportunity will be done by the end user. Subscription fees will be used to find new opportunities for the employment of veterans registered to the Plough Back Africa platform.

b. individuals looking to promote, by means of a financial contribution or sponsoring an individual’s subscription to support the cause of veterans to plough back their skills, qualifications, expertise and experience in the African Continent. Financial contributions will be used to find new opportunities for the employment of veterans registered to the Plough Back Africa platform. c. defence industry companies or other organisations looking to promote, by means of a financial contribution or sponsoring an individual’s subscription to support the cause of veterans to plough back their skills, qualifications, expertise and experience in the African Continent. Financial contributions will be used to find new opportunities for the employment of veterans registered to the Plough Back Africa platform.

We expect basic courtesy from all subscribers whilst using our Plough Back Africa platform and/or Services. By accessing the Plough Back Africa platform and/or using the Services, you agree that you will not upload, post or transmit through the Plough Back Africa platform, anything that (a) violates or infringes in any way upon the rights of others, including any statements which may defame, harass, stalk or threaten others; (b) you know to be false, misleading or inaccurate; (c) contains blatant expressions of bigotry, racism, racially or ethnically offensive content, hate speech, abusiveness, vulgarity or profanity; (d) contains or advocates pornography or sexually explicit content, paedophilia, incest, bestiality, or that is otherwise obscene or lewd; (e) violates any law or advocates or provides instruction on dangerous, illegal, or predatory acts, or discusses illegal activities with the intent to commit them; (f) advocates violent behaviour; or (g) poses, in our sole opinion, a threat to personal or public safety.

Further, we reserve the right to suspend provision of the subscription to you in circumstances where we reasonably believe that you have performed any unauthorised processing of information. In respect of any personal data accessed or otherwise processed by a Customer as a result of access to the Plough Back Africa platform or the subscription, the subscriber agrees that it shall be the sole data controller of such personal data for the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI Act) and, as such, shall be solely responsible for its processing.

All copyright, database rights and other intellectual property rights in the Plough Back Africa platform and the material available on the Plough Back Africa platform belongs to us or its third party suppliers. Use of the Plough Back Africa platform does not give you any proprietary rights in such materials.

By using the Plough Back Africa platform, you accept these terms

By using the Plough Back Africa platform, you confirm that you accept these Terms and that you agree to comply with them.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Plough Back Africa platform.

We recommend that you print a copy of these Terms for future reference.

Your Profile

You can create one or more resumes within your account, which will consist of various CV related pieces of information as well as a picture provided by you. It will also keep a record of your activity on our platform.

Armiger will share your skills, qualifications, expertise and experience with prospective customers once we have confirmed your availability. You can update the content at any time unless you have not been committed as a resource in an active proposal.

Our prospective clients will then have access to your Profile even if it is not generally available and will be able to see the data you provided. However they will not be able to see your personal credentials such as name, surname, contact number and address. We will also use the data you have provided as part of your Profile to provide you with opportunities tailored to your needs based on your Profile data and Job Alerts.

As part of an active and public profile we may also provide a link to a profile about you on a publicly available business related social media website we have found about you on your resume. Such access to CV Database can also be provided through browser plugins or other software that we offer and which will allow our clients to access your profile if they visit certain social media websites.

If you choose to create a Profile with us, then we will keep your resume on file until you ask us to delete your account from our Database.

We do not warrant or guarantee a minimum volume of storage capacity for your Profile. We reserve the right to temporarily or permanently restrict the data volume for uploads of data, especially if necessary due to technical reasons, for example in order to maintain or optimise the Service.

a. Application History

Within your account we store your applications to opportunity listings that were published on the platforms in a history database.

b. Additional functions for Job Alerts

In your Account you can manage the “Job Alert” settings, i.e. the criteria used to match your resume.

c. Deceased User

In the event of the death of user, a person authorised to act on behalf of the estate, or a verified immediate family member of the deceased can request to have the deceased user’s account removed. We will require additional documentation for this request in order to avoid unauthorised and false reports. Be assured that the requested information will remain confidential and will be deleted once we have reviewed it.

We may make changes to these terms

We amend these Terms from time to time. Every time you wish to use the Plough Back Africa platform, please check these Terms to ensure you understand the terms that apply at that time.

Which country’s laws apply to any disputes?

These Terms, their subject matter and its formation are governed by South African law. You and Armiger both agree that the courts of South Africa will have exclusive jurisdiction.
